Quick answer

Character skins are separate owned items tied to one hero. A skin's combat effect requires the matching skin to be owned and equipped in the active loadout; resonance does not automatically grant it. Skins can reach 5 stars, with one additional skin copy required for each star.

Ownership and equip rules

  • Owning a hero does not imply owning any of the hero's skins.
  • A character skin can only attach to its owner hero.
  • The active hero receives the combat effect only from the skin equipped in the loadout.
  • Putting a hero in resonance does not automatically activate that hero's skin effect.

Skin star progression

  • Character skins cap at 5 stars.
  • Each star requires one additional copy of that skin.
  • Star levels can increase the skin's effect values; the exact scaling belongs on the individual skin page.
  • Duck Alex and Duck Helix are documented examples where the chance or duration increases with skin stars.

Sacred Hall inheritance exception

Sacred Hall progression can explicitly unlock skin inheritance from resonance slots. This is an account-system exception, not a reason to assume every resonance skin is active. Tier 4 introduces inheritance from resonance slot 1, and Tier 7 expands the character/skin slot interaction.

Build Compatibility should activate this exception only when the player has recorded the required Sacred Hall state and the applicable skin setup.

How skins affect builds

A build recommendation that depends on a skin must name it. If the player has not marked that skin as owned and equipped, Build Compatibility should not assume the effect exists.

Browse by hero

The skin library groups documented skins under their owner hero. Use the individual pages for the current effect and star scaling instead of inferring mechanics from a theme name.
