Griffin Set Build Guide 2026

Choose the right Griffin build for Arena, PvE, bosses, Seal Battle, and Expedition in Archero 2.

By the CAPPED Editorial Team · How we review guides

Quick answer

Griffin is best understood as close-range Battleborn pressure, Griffin's Descent, Talon Tear, and self-sustain. Pick the mode first, because the correct slots and rune page change substantially between Arena, PvE, bosses, Seal Battle, and Expedition.

What Griffin is good at

close-range Battleborn pressure, Griffin's Descent, Talon Tear, and self-sustain.

  • Griffin Claw's base Rank 5 effect builds Battleborn from Main Weapon damage within 7m; ten stacks begin Griffin's Descent for ten seconds. Later Griffin upgrades can reduce the required stacks.
  • Talon Tear deals close-range damage and Griffin pieces add duration, healing, enemy attack reduction, and close-range critical damage.
  • Griffin is a leading PvP choice and a strong boss option when sustained close-range uptime is possible.

Pick the mode before the build

ModeUse this version
ArenaGriffin is the leading Chaotic-tier close-range PvP direction. Build around Griffin Claw, Griffin's Descent, Circle pressure, and staying within 7m; before Chaotic tier, developed Dragoon builds remain a real alternative.
PvEGriffin is viable in PvE but is not the default farming or tower recommendation. Use it when the Claw/Descent package is already your strongest investment or the route permits sustained close range; otherwise Oracle is the safer default.
BossA Griffin-centered boss shell uses Griffin Claw, Ring, and Helmet with Oracle Amulet, Armor, and Boots. Its damage comes from maintaining the 7m Griffin's Descent window; use a ranged weapon comparison when the target repeatedly breaks that uptime.
Seal BattleThe tested low-spender/F2P close-range Seal shell is Griffin Claw, Ring, and Helmet with Oracle Amulet, Armor, and Boots. It is strong only when the target permits sustained 7m uptime; it is not a universal Seal build.
ExpeditionGriffin is the close-range survival experiment for Expedition, especially when the replay shows its healing and 7m effects keeping the unit active. The end-screen damage is unreliable, so do not call it the best frontline set from the number alone.

Investment rule

  • Keep the functioning higher-grade set while target pieces catch up.
  • Upgrade pieces that survive across multiple modes before a one-mode luxury swap.
  • Attach the exact build to recorded boss, Arena, Seal, and Expedition runs so improvements are measurable.

Where the set loses value

  • The build loses much of its identity when it cannot stay within 7m.
  • When another set's Descent is active, the Descent-conditioned Rank 5 effects of Griffin Helmet, Armor, and Boots are halved. Griffin Ring and Boots base bonuses that explicitly count nearby monsters do not count players; evaluate their Godforge effects separately.
